PRECISE
Our Valuation Methods
The Rapid Survey Group uses the Castle Data Service (CDS) replacement cost
engine for trained professionals. It is a square footage method where a
replacement cost is calculated based on the average cost per square foot of the
home. Unlike most inspection companies, the Rapid Survey Group relies on its
field representatives to determine the replacement cost of each home they
survey rather than a proofreader or processor in a central office. We feel that
this approach makes much more sense as the field representative has been to the
home, whereas an administrative person has only a few photos to work with. All
of the Rapid Survey Group field representatives must first pass CDS'
instructional class before they are sent into the field to calculate a
replacement cost.
Castle Data Services has done extensive research on the material and labor costs
to rebuild a home after an insurance loss. This includes in-depth analysis of
all of the different building components such as foundation, framing, floor
covering, roof costs, contractor profit margins, etc. We teach all of our Rapid
Survey Group field representatives how to identify the type of building
materials that they encounter, as well as how to assess the quality of those
materials and the techniques involved in putting the home together.
CDS has the most accurate replacement cost calculators in the industry, with
each home realistically adjusted by CDS' location multipliers to accurately
reflect local market conditions. For more information on Castle Data Services'
